Tiger Woods Masters - In case you didn't realize, Tiger Woods is now in full salvation mode. And boy, is it an unseemly display. Just as the disgraced golfer is about to begin his professional comeback at the Masters in Augusta, Ga. this week, a new Nike ad appears. Over the years, the sports-clothing manufacturer has given us some memorable, sometimes even transcendent ads - but the new Tiger spot is particularly striking. Actually, the word "galling" seems more fitting.

The only visual is Tiger staring sullenly into the camera. The audio track is the late Earl Tiger Woods, Tiger's father, pressing his son for a vague explanation. "Tiger, I'm more prone to be inquisitive, to promote discussion. I want to find out what your thinking was, what your feelings are and, did you learn anything?"

The insinuation is that Earl is holding Tiger to account for his much-publicized philandering. As a concept, a way of addressing Tiger's malfeasance without destroying his career, it's pretty damn shrewd. It's also seriously problematic.

For one thing, Earl died in 2006, long before Tiger's affairs filled the tabloids, so the set-up is disingenuous. I realize that calling an ad "disingenuous" is like calling a bear "furry." The bigger problem is that Earl Woods was a rumoured philanderer himself, so it's not like he can be held up as some beacon of morality. (Perhaps they should have considered hiring James Earl Jones for the voice work. Now there's a man who conveys authority!)

Why does Tiger Woods need a clothing manufacturer to help facilitate his penitence? Well, the answer is simple. This ad is doing double-duty - it's humanizing Tiger, but it's also projecting a message (or two) about Nike. The first message is this: Nike will continue to stick by their man. Second, Tiger's awesome lapse in judgment may help them sell more clothing, provided that it can be couched as a redemptive lesson in how to be a better human being.

If nothing else, Nike's clever gambit will produce thousands of armchair psychologists.

Primbon - This week, Mercury is emerging from the glare of the sun and making a beeline for Venus. By week's end, the two planets will be just 3o apart, an eye-catching pair in the deep-blue twilight of sunset. The best nights to look are April 3rd and 4th. Go outside at the end of the day and face west. Venus pops out of the twilight first, so bright it actually shines through thin clouds. Mercury follows, just below and to the right.

Ramalan Primbon Venus is an old friend to most sky watchers; Mercury, less so. The first planet from the sun spends most of its time wrapped in painful sunlight. Seeing it so easily, and in the beautiful company of Venus no less, is a rare treat indeed. The next apparition this good won't come until Nov. 2011.

By that time, however, we'll have much better view of Mercury all the time.

NASA's MESSENGER probe is en route to Mercury now, and in March of 2011 it will become the first spacecraft to orbit the planet. During a year-long science mission, MESSENGER will beam back a stream of high-resolution pictures and data obtained using seven instruments designed to operate in the extreme environment near the Sun. This kind of coverage of planet #1 is unprecedented.

Three flybys of Mercury by MESSENGER in 2008 and 2009 have already revealed much to be excited about.

For instance, Mercury has a long, comet-like tail, which whips around the sun in synch with the planet's elliptical orbit, waxing and waning with Mercury's distance from the sun. The tail is made of Mercury itself. Atoms and molecules are knocked off the planet's surface by solar radiation, solar wind bombardment and meteoroid vaporization, forming the stuff of Mercury's thin, elongated atmosphere (or "exosphere"). Researchers say it's the most active planetary exosphere in the whole solar system.

MESSENGER has also found that Mercury's magnetic field is "alive." It is generated by an active dynamo inside Mercury, probably akin to the magnetic dynamo of our own planet. Buffeted relentlessly by solar wind, Mercury's magnetosphere is a hotbed of magnetic reconnection, the same basic physical process that energizes auroras on Earth and sparks solar flares on the sun. Mercury probably has its own brand of geomagnetic activity waiting to be discovered when MESSENGER goes into orbit.

Even Mercury's pitted landscape is interesting. Giant Caloris basin dwarfs almost every other crater in the solar system, and it is ringed by volcanic vents that paint the landscape with subtle but lovely colors. Towering scarps tell a tale of a "shrinking planet" wrinkled in response to past contractions. And the whole globe is dotted by an amazing variety of craters with names such as Rembrandt and Picasso.

Mercury is definitely worth a look. The show begins at sunset.

Sayang tapi mau gimana lagi," kata pemeran film Barbi3 itu.

Patrialis: Saya Yang Tanggung Jawab
Menteri Hukum dan HAM Patrialis Akbar menyatakan bertanggung jawab untuk kasus sel mewah Artalyta Suryani cs di Rutan Pondok Bambu. Patrialis menyatakan siap mengambil alih kesalahan anak buahnya.

Menurut data kapasistas di rutan atau LP banyak yang telah melebihi kapasitas. Untuk Rutan Pondok Bambu, Jakarta Timur, saat ini dihuni 1.164 orang. Padahal kapasitas penjara itu hanya untuk 504 orang.
Patrialis Tak Keberatan Disebut Artalyta Kawan Lama
Artalyta Suryani pernah menyebut Menkum HAM Patrialis sebagai sahabat lamanya. Patrialis tidak keberatan. Bagi dia, semua orang itu kawannya.
“Saya boleh tidak sebut Anda kawan lama. Misalnya, saya sebut kita pernah teman, itu salah atau tidak? Semua orang itu kawan saya. Jangan kita mendiskreditkan orang,” kata Patrialis.
Patrialis menilai pernyataan Artalyta tidak berdampak negatif bagi dirinya.

Namun hingga kini penampakan tuyul itu masih ramai menjadi perbincangan warga. Apalagi, salah satu remaja yang terekam dalam video itu langsung jatuh sakit selama 3 bulan.

“Kejadiannya sih sudah lama, sekitar enam bulan lalu. Saat itu tiga anak SMP sedang main gitar di teras rumahnya. Kemudian salah satu temannya merekam kedua rekannya yang sedang main gitar dan bernyanyi itu. Tiba-tiba, dalam rekaman itu muncul sesosok makhluk menyerupai tuyul,” ujar seorang warga yang minta namanya tidak disebutkan, akhir pekan lalu.

Warga itu mengatakan, setelah rekaman tersebut, salah satu remaja bernama Didi, langsung jatuh sakit selama tiga bulan. Menurut orang pintar yang menyembuhkan Didi, sakitnya siswa SMP itu akibat kemunculan tuyul dalam rekaman yang dibuat temannya melalui ponsel tersebut. “Makanya sejak itu keluarga Didi menolak menceritakan kembali soal kejadian itu, karena takut sakit anaknya kembali kambuh,” katanya.

Hebohnya rekaman video tuyul itu juga diakui Indrajaya, 32, warga Kotabatu, Kecamatan Ciomas, Kabupaten Bogor. Ia mengatakan, rekaman itu dia terima sekitar Mei lalu. Saat itu dia tidak menyangka kalau rekaman itu dibuat di daerah Sukamantri. “Justru saya dapat rekaman ini dari teman saya yang kerja di Jakarta. Katanya kejadian ini terjadi di Cianjur, makanya saya kaget pas tahu ternyata kejadiannya nggak jauh dari rumah saya,” katanya.
Dalam rekaman berdurasi 2:44 detik itu terlihat dua remaja main gitar sambil bernyanyi. Dilihat dari rekaman yang gambarnya tidak terlalu jelas itu, dua remaja itu bermain gitar di teras rumah. Tidak diketahui teras rumah siapa tempat mereka berkumpul.
Saat rekaman pada detik ke-44, tiba-tiba muncul sesosok makhluk dari belakang kedua remaja itu sambil berjalan merangkak. Tubuhnya kurus dengan tangan panjang dan kepala botak. Remaja yang merekam gambar itu langsung berteriak kepada dua temannya mengunakan bahasa Sunda. “Di..di aya tuyul din tukangeun sia,” teriak remaja itu sambil berteriak memberitahukan kepada Didi dan rekannya yang saat itu sedang bernyanyi.
Dalam rekaman itu Didi dan temannya sempat melihat ke belakang, namun dia tidak melihat sosok makhluk seperti yang diucapkan temannya itu. Sekitar 10 detik kemudian, sosok makhluk itu menghilang. Namun, tiba-tiba muncul lagi persis di hadapan handphone yang digunakan untuk merekam. Selanjutnya sosok menyeramkan itu kembali menghilang dan muncul lagi di lokasi berbeda hanya berjarak sekitar dua meter dari ketiga remaja itu.
Dari data video itu, rekaman tersebut dibuat tangal 25 April 2009 sekitar pukul 22.45, dengan durasi 2:44 detik.

Ditangkap
Tuyul dalam mitologi Nusantara, terutama di Pulau Jawa, adalah makhluk halus berwujud anak kecil atau orang kerdil dengan kepala gundul. H Udin yang biasa disapa Abah ini mengaku, sebelum menerima permintaan warga Puri Nirwana melalui Hasan, yang juga temannya, ia terlebih dahulu melakukan salat. Setelah itu baru ia mendatangi lokasi. Di sini, lagi-lagi dirinya melakukan ritual khusus untuk mengetahui keberadaan tuyul tersebut.
Dua tuyul yang ditangkap pada Jumat 27/11) malam itu, kini masih berada dalam sebuah botol besar berwarna putih. Sebelum dua tuyul masuk dalam perangkap, Abah terlebih dulu menggoyang botol yang mengeluarkan asap putih.

Saat digoyang, botol tersebut terliaht terasa ringan. Namun beberapa menit kemudian, botol terasa berat. Bahkan Abah terlihat berkeringat, walau suasana saat itu tengah turun hujan. Abah lalu menyampaikan kepada warga, bahwa tuyul sudah masuk dalam perangkapnya.

Terlihat sepintas, memang ada dua bayangan dalam botol. Dua mahluk yang diakui Abah sebagai tuyul itu berukuran besar dan kecil. Tuyul-tuyul itu masih berada di rumah H Udin. Rencananya warga akan melakukan ritual , untuk selanjutnya melepas kedua mahluk tersebut ke alamnya.
